Fred Flare's NEXT BIG THING!

Every year I look forward to Fred Flare's NEXT BIG THING CONTEST, and this year a few names sounded familiar and it was no surprise to discovered that Jay McCarroll (from Project Runway Season 1 winner), Jewelry designer Jennifer Danielle Perkins (from Naughty Secretary Club and Stylelicious), Sarah Neuburger (from the small object also recently featured on Adorn Mag.), and Supayana designer were among the selected winners. Some new talents none of which I had heard of before were Whitney Gifford who has a clothing line named "NICE FACE", and Timber Handmade (found a nice way to keep misplaced earrings with a cute wooden tree holder), Mia Santiago (I will be purchasing the oversized pencil case), Cicely Margo (made an adorable ring) and Bored INC. Malicious Designs

I prefer to support upcoming designers rather than better known ones like Chanel (not that I could afford it). Malicious Designs has adorable handmade & hand dyed dresses. I can appreciate handmade garments rather than mass-produced items; who wants to look like everyone else? The designs are inspired by old Hollywood lingerie yet party perfect; the designer "keep[s] all her designs fresh by using vibrant colored silks, laces, trim and charming patterned cottons" .

WHITE-OUT

This piece by Choye Toi is a great addition to a wardrobe, I love that it is victorian-inspired but still modern. The ruffled collar is genius, this is unlike the other white shirts of this season. Available at style-scene for $170.
